At first glance, Este is a small, humble town in Veneto, a Region
in the North of Italy. For three millennia this place has played
a central role to the rise and fall of some of the world’s
greatest civilisations – from the Iron Age and the Ancient Romans
to medieval dynasties and the Republic of Venice, when it became
prosperous and rich. It is predominantly a rich rural area.
The simple design with its pitch roof and the light textured plaster
walls with accents of light-coloured stone wall finishes
represents a contemporary celebration of the beautiful simplicity
of Veneto’s rural areas. Its architectural contour follows
the tradition of local architecture while giving
a contemporary twist to the design.
